WOOha! Vail announces next-season unrestricted pass for less than $600
Its an epic season by weather standards here in Colorado, but with the warming temperatures and the end of the calendar appearing not too far off, Vail Company is clearly thinking very far ahead. In fact, Vail has come up with its most perfect offering ever for the upcoming ’08-’09 season, and if you are one of Vail’s most loyal customers, or want to be one, the resort company has just opened up its pearly gates with you in mind, with the Epic Pass
Being offered initially at $579, the Epic Pass was put together to “completely change how our guests experience their ski and snowboard vacations,” in the words of Rob Katz, CEO. The idea behind this is that beyond Peaks, and other lift ticket discount programs, the Epic will establish a “Welcome Back” on a per-guest basis. This pass is not only affordable for locals, but retains its value for visitors much longer than the 6-day lift pass of equivalent price. For this price, now, any guest can purchase the Epic instead, and come back for a weekend or just a day before or after their vacation, completely free of lift charges.
As a completely unrestricted pass, the locals crowd will also enjoy fewer limitations than the current merchant pass program, assuming that the Epic is still available and a viable replacement in September and October. The Epic is not blocked on President’s Weekend or Christmas, and is available “for each moment of our season from the day we open in November until we close in April, including every holiday in between. No
one will be able to out-ski this pass.” Yesss!
In addition to the pass, guests with the Epic get access to some seasonal exclusive deals on rentals, lodging, and lessons. Vail Resorts expects to treat holders of the Epic pass with the distinction of a self-selecting loyalty group that means to make the most out of the winter. “When guests see the Epic Season Pass they will quickly identify its unique, one-of- a-kind design, a distinctive sign of belonging to a very special group.”
