Road to Aspen closed come to Vail and Beaver Creek!!

At roughly 12:09 am on March 8, 2010 a rock-slide in Glenwood Canyon has closed the interstate, I-70, that provides access to Aspen Mountain and Glenwood Springs. The rock-slide caused massive damage to the interstate and will have the road closed for weeks if not months. There is however a detour that allows for access to Glenwood Springs and Aspen Mountain but it adds about 6 hours to the trip. The loop takes you up through Steamboat Springs and Craig on HWY 40 then turns south into Rifle on CO 13 and then one must backtrack to Glenwood Springs on I-70 to get to Aspen.  The roads to Vail and Beaver Creek are open and the snow could not be better for mid March.  Cancel your Aspen vacation and book your vacation to Beaver Creek and Vail now!

Beaver Creek and Vail are getting hammered with new snow!!!

It is February 21 2010, and finally winter is here in the Vail Valley! We have 12″ in the past two days reported at Beaver Creek, but there is waist deep in areas, and Vail has reported 27″ over the  past week; conditions are going to keep improving over the next few days as the forecast is calling for more snow!!  We knew mother nature wasn’t going to keep the snow away from Vail and Beaver Creek all season, and we are thankful for every inch we are getting at this point.  Keep your eyes peeled on the weather and get out to Beaver Creek and Vail to enjoy the freshies!
