The tourists and locals alike are very excited to be in the Vail Valley this winter. Beaver Creek and Vail have both been getting steady snowfall. A local resident I was talking to the other day told me “it’s great!! We finally get to do some real skiing”. The weather has been in the low teens to mid twenties perfect conditions for continued snowfall. If you’ve been missing the great winters in the Vail Valley, this is your year!!

Beaver Creek is starting their season off strong. The mountain, only open one week, is hosting the Birds of Prey World Cup races this weekend. Ski racers from all over the world come to Beaver Creek to compete for three days of racing events including downhill, Super G, and the Giant Slalom. The races are free and open to the public.
In less than one month, both Vail AND Beaver Creek will be open. Vail opens on Nov. 16 where it will reveal it’s new gondola. As for now, the gondola is known as Gondola 1 but the name will be revealed on opening day. This gondola is something to see! Not only does it move faster and carry more people but it has heated seats, an ipod jack and so much more.

It’s that time of year again. The temps are dropping and the mountain is turning white! Vail starting blowing snow this week and people are already shopping for their gear. Yup, you guested it.
