Where to Stay in Beaver Creek, Vail and Avon This Summer

Where to stay during the exciting summer months in Beaver Creek, Vail and the Avon during these great summer events:
Here are just a few huge events that you do not want to miss.

XTERRA

Beaver Creek West Condo’s is the best play to stay as we are next to Nottingham Lake where the swimming is held for XTERRA
Because of the sometimes extreme conditions, every race in the XTERRA Colorado Trail Run Series offers two course options – a “short” course for less-experienced runners and a longer course for experienced runners. The short courses are usually 10 kilometers or fewer; the long courses are usually 20 kilometers or longer. There are even two events that will offer 42K full marathon trail courses.

All of the races in the XTERRA Colorado Trail Run Series are open to runners of all ages and skill levels. Points will be awarded to the top age-group finishers of each race. At the conclusion of the series, each age-group champion will receive a free entry to represent Colorado at the XTERRA Trail Run National Championship.

“There are a lot of running series in Colorado, but what’s different about the XTERRA Series is that it leads to something,” Parker noted. “If you do well in the XTERRA (Colorado) Series, you can move on to the Nationals or Worlds, and that’s a nice incentive.”

The Snow Beats Halloween for the 2009 – 2010 Beaver Creek Ski Season

It is October 28th and there is snow covering most of the higher elevations in Eagle County.  This is not usually the case, normally we get hit with a good winter storm before Halloween, but it then melts due to a warm front or the ground being still too warm. Not this year! We have more snow in the forecast, 1-2 feet by Friday the 30th.  If this continues we should have great opening day/early season conditions at both Vail and Beaver Creek resorts.  Beaver Creek is planning to open 11-25-09, just 5 days later than Vail’s 11-20-09 expected opening day.  Vail has been blowing snow in Golden Peak, using their new park snow gun setup, and according to rumor is planning to have their half pipe and jumps up very soon after Thanksgiving. For the best lodging, lift ticket, and equipment rental deals in the Vail Valley contact Beaver Creek West by calling 1-800-222-4840.
