Holiday Ski Discounts And Packages

Lodging destinations in the Vail Valley are cutting rates and minimum night requirements. Vail Resorts cut their minimum night stay over the busy season from 7 to 5 to promote reservations. Beaver Creek West in Avon, CO at the base of Beaver Creek has eliminated their minimum stay requirements completely so that they can accommodate a variety of travelers during the upcoming holiday time period: “We have eliminated the minimum night requirements to try to fill some reservation gaps during December and early January” – Beaver Creek West GM Mike Bennett states. Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Avon, CO Opening October 1, 2008

The new Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa is opening for the 2008-2009 ski season in Avon, CO on October 1, 2008. Spring Break Special: Learn to Snowboard

Spring in the Vail Valley is newly undeniable- the skies are friendly and daily temperatures crest above 32 Farenheight. Spring break must be just around the corner. With so many new riders out there, we made a little video showing you what you might expect from your first couple of days. Oh right, and its okay to laugh at us. For sure.

Thank you to Venture Sports, who totally set us up for a couple of awesome days with their amazing knowledge and friendly service, and to Bobby from Beaver Creek Ski School for teaching us everything we learned. We had a blast!

A great glass of Vin

Upscale, romantic, chic dining is no stranger to the Vail valley. Innovation, novelty, and invention, on the other hand, are a little bit more difficult to come by, as attempts at these in this area have historically amounted to examples of kitsch that serve instead to forward innocent designers from straying down the path. Take Avon’s boat building, for example. The poor boat building, which was originally designed to look like a ski, earned its name after construction by its rounded glass façade, round bulbous windows, and looming “nose” over one of the town’s busiest roundabouts. The original intent of the building might have fallen by the wayside except that it now houses Vin 48- a restaurant concept as novel as the boat building itself, but even more innovative and inventive with space use and wine tasting.
