Snow! Tons of it!
Up here in Vail we are currently experiencing snow, snow snow!!! It has been snowing since yesterday, and the snow coming down right now is thick and fast, in clumps- some as big as quarters! We anticipate snow for the next two days as well and possibly longer. Its already so thick and heavy that its falling off the trees and creating drifts as deep as several feet. Aside from the low visibility, these are the best conditions that the season has seen yet, and they’re only improving by the minute. We’ll be enjoying this snow for the rest of the season as a good solid base for all surrounding ski resorts.
Vail could not have chosen a more appropriate weekend for its Snow Daze celebration, which kicked off last night with Ziggy Marley. Tonight’s show at the Dobson Arena is Social Distortion, and tomorrow the Roots and Ludacris will headline at the Ford Ampitheatre for an outdoor performance (brr!) Snow daze is taking place on the snowiest days yet!
Be sure to check our calendar for other fun things to do in Vail and the rest of the Valley and surrounding areas.
To commemorate this the Vail Valley Blog has created a Weather Page to keep you informed on the most up-to-date weather scenarios of the Vail valley. Be sure to check out our Snow Conditions page too!
Hello. I write from spain and I´m thinking to go to Vail in march, from 8th to 15, I only can go that week. I must do a long long trip to go there, so I would like to know if in march I can have good snow, or it´s late to go there. Thank you.
March is often regarded as some of the best conditions all year, because it has been snowing for the whole season- we still get fresh snow, but theres such a nice base in March that skiing glades or Vail’s back bowls can be made less dangerous. So far this year we’ve gotten quite a bit of snow, and the forecast always seems to be dotted with snow clouds. There are around 7 different places to go skiing too in this area, so take your pick.
